Ethiopia:
Making Sense of our Promise |
Scripture declares
Ethiopia
shall soon stretch her hands to God. Are we listening to His call? Are
we truly lifting up our hearts and our hands to God in heaven? Reality
check reveals that we are not in sync with our promise. What does it
take to break us and make us surrender to His perfect will? If not now,
when? If not this generation, which?
We don’t need to point our
fingers at others. The order of the matter is to look at ourselves. Let
the ambassadors of the Prince of Peace be the first on trial for not
modeling peace, harmony and genuine unity. How long do we let the devil
mock our destiny making the divine gift look like an empty promise?
We entrust the salvation of our
land into the hands of our political leaders and wonder why when they
fail us. We count on our spiritual leaders to lead us into
reconciliation and unity and be perplexed when they come short the glory
of God big time. In desperation we pray divided, and before long, leave
the throne of grace to be busy with the affairs of the care of this
world.
Prayer that avails much requires
faith, being in one accord, patience and diligence. Prayer moves God’s
hands in a way that glorify the Almighty alone. Prayer is our leverage
to position our leaders in line to His will or make the adamant leaders
deposed in ways only He can do. Prayer gives us the insight into His
heart so that we can let the heaven have access to invade our land
through us. In prayer no one runs the show and no one can steal the
credit. Prayer is the safe venue for all honor and glory go to God the
true King.
Think of Psalm 68:31 – one person
at a time, one family at a time, one church at a time, and one community
at a time before the fire catches the whole nation. That is how God
works out His purpose – from the inside out through His mercy and
grace. Our hope is secured in God who has foreknowledge of who we are
when He gave out a word on
Ethiopia
. God is not surprised that we don’t have what it takes to make a name
for ourselves. With this awareness, let us come united, humbly in prayer
that He may glorify His name in our land.
Ethiopia
’s redemption commences with a spiritual breakthrough. Pray that we
come together AS ONE in every city around the world to lift up our
bankrupt nation. It is a matter of time – for the One who gives a
promise is trustworthy to bring it to pass before our eyes. Remember God
is waiting on us. Who dares to leave the ego under His feet at the
Cross? Who would be His witness in this time of ours? Who strives to be
filled by His love and reach out in love? Had we come to our senses and
be authentic to the Word, our promise surely could have made a whole lot
sense!
